Brown Sugar Maple Peach Cobbler (Printable Version)

Juicy peaches baked in a brown sugar batter with maple syrup, creating a caramelized dessert that's perfect warm with ice cream.

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 stick (113g) butter
02 - 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
03 - 1 cup (200g) light or dark brown sugar, divided
04 - 2 teaspoons baking powder
05 - 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
06 - 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
07 - 1 cup (240ml) milk
08 - 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
09 - 5-6 ripe peaches, cut into 8 wedges each
10 - 2 tablespoons maple syrup

# Steps:

01 - Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the butter in a 9×13 inch baking dish and put in the oven until completely melted, about 10 minutes.
02 - In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, 3/4 cup brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Stir in the milk and vanilla until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
03 - In a separate bowl, gently toss the peach wedges with the remaining 1/4 cup brown sugar and maple syrup until evenly coated.
04 - Arrange half of the peaches over the melted butter in the baking dish. Pour the batter evenly over the peaches without stirring. Top with the remaining peaches, distributing them evenly.
05 - Bake for 50-55 minutes, until the center is just set and the edges begin to brown and become slightly crisp.
06 - Serve warm or at room temperature with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for the perfect complement.

# Notes:

01 - The batter will rise through the peaches during baking, creating a delicious cakey layer with fruit throughout.
02 - For best results, use ripe but firm peaches that hold their shape when baked.
