Fig & Bacon Pizza (Printable Version)

Crispy flatbread with fig preserves, turkey bacon, and creamy cheeses creating a delicious sweet and savory combination.

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - 2 mini pre-prepared pizza crusts or flatbread
02 - Olive oil for brushing
03 - Garlic powder for sprinkling

→ Toppings

04 - 6 slices turkey bacon, rough chopped
05 - 6-8 dried (or fresh) figs, sliced
06 - 3 tablespoons fig preserves
07 - 2-3 tablespoons goat cheese crumbles
08 - 2 tablespoons shaved Parmesan

→ Garnish

09 - Cracked black pepper
10 - Balsamic glaze (optional)

# Steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).
02 - Brush flatbread or pizza crusts with olive oil and lightly sprinkle with garlic powder. Place in preheated oven for 5-8 minutes until lightly browned and crisp.
03 - While crusts are baking, cook turkey bacon until crisp. Rough chop after cooking and set aside.
04 - Spread a thin layer of fig preserves on the pre-baked crusts, leaving about 1.3 cm (1/2 inch) around the edges. Distribute turkey bacon and sliced figs evenly over the preserves. Top with goat cheese crumbles and shaved Parmesan.
05 - Return pizzas to the 220°C (425°F) oven for another 5-8 minutes until cheese is melted and slightly golden.
06 - Remove from oven, season with freshly cracked black pepper, and drizzle with balsamic glaze if desired. Serve immediately.

# Notes:

01 - For a crispier crust, pre-bake the flatbread a minute or two longer before adding toppings.
02 - Fresh figs can be substituted when in season for a more delicate flavor.
