Texas Roadhouse Smothered Chicken (Printable Version)

Tender chicken breasts in a creamy sauce topped with melted Jack cheese for a restaurant-quality dinner at home.

# Ingredients:

01 - 3-4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
02 - 1 cup shredded Jack cheese
03 - 2 tablespoons olive oil
04 - 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
05 - 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
06 - ½ cup sour cream
07 - Salt and pepper to taste
08 - Chopped green onions for garnish
09 - Paprika for garnish

# Steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Rub chicken breasts with olive oil and season generously with salt and pepper.
02 - In a large ovenproof skillet over medium-high heat, sear chicken breasts until golden brown, approximately 5 minutes per side.
03 - Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn.
04 - Pour chicken broth into the skillet, scraping the bottom to release flavorful browned bits. Stir in sour cream until well combined and allow to simmer for about 5 minutes.
05 - Top each chicken breast with shredded Jack cheese. Transfer skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly and chicken reaches 165°F (74°C) internal temperature.
06 - Remove from oven and garnish with chopped green onions and a light sprinkle of paprika before serving.
